David Lynch is coming to town in October for an advance screening of his new film, "The Straight Story." The 5.9 million film got a standing ova- ion at Cannes last week The movie's about the late Alvin Straight the 73-year old iowa guy who drove his lawn mower to Wisconsin five years ago to make peace with his dying brother.
And once this hits the screen it should answer any lingering questions the rest of the country has about whether Iowans are a bunch of hicks.
